For the year 2002, prices for single-family homes held level with 2001, but there was more sales activity, with Buyers attracted by historically low interest rates. There were 3100 single-family homes sales in 2002, a 15% increase in transactions from the 2694 sales in 2001. District 1 showed the largest price advance by increasing almost 12% in 2002.  Districts 7 and 8 homes taken together showed a sale price decrease of almost 13%.

 

Condominium sales activity showed an astonishing increase of over 50% city-wide in volume, although the average sale price declined slightly, pulled down by a 13% decline in price in the prime areas of District 7.
